Job description

Job Title

Performs as a Unit Secretary at least 50% of the time and functions as a Nursing Assistant as assigned. Performs clerical and reception duties to maintain efficient operation of the department. Assists in the continuity of patient care delivery within an assigned area by providing direct personal care, rehabilitative measures, and supportive services.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates written, interpersonal, or communication skills as appropriate to position
  • Working knowledge of direct patient care
  • Basic knowledge of Unit Secretary functions
  • Successful completion of one of the following:
    • Nursing Assistant Program
    • Medical Assistant Program
    • Equivalent work history in a patient care environment
    • Rotation with total patient care at Nursing School
    • EMT Training

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

  • BLS - American Heart Association

Desired Qualifications

Working knowledge of Unit Secretary functions
