Focus: The Production Manager - Unit 5 is responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the Unit 3 production unit. This role ensures that manufacturing objectives are achieved in compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate performance expectations. The Production Manager leads a team of operators, engineers, and frontline leaders to drive continuous improvement, optimize production, and develop future manufacturing talent
Essential Responsibilities:- Lead day-to-day operations of the production unit to meet or exceed safety, environmental, quality, and production targets
- Provide coaching, development, and performance feedback for frontline leaders and operations personnel
- Promote a strong safety culture by setting expectations and leading by example
- Execute production schedules while minimizing unplanned downtime and optimizing unit uptime
- Manage production metrics (OEE, yield, cost per unit, etc.) and drive root cause analysis on variances
- Identify and implement operational improvements in cost, yield, energy, or throughput
Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering; Mechanical or Chemical degree* preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of chemical plant experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong working knowledge of PSM (Process Safety Management), OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in high-pressure environments
- Proficiency with manufacturing systems (e.g., SAP, PI, DCS systems)
- Extensive experience in high-hazard chlorinated organics (EDC/VCM) manufacturing environments preferred
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
*Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
