Job description

Administrative Assistant/EOP - 10 Month - Counseling Office

To provide able assistance to the Administration of the school and add to the continued improvement of the educational program. The efficient performance of their duties and responsibilities are an integral part of the Unit Five school system. Bilingual preferred.

Duties:

  • BACC changes
  • Foreign exchange
  • ESL / Testing
  • Private school / BACC coordination
  • Transfers from NCWHS
  • Attendance exceptions
  • Alternate serving school assignments
  • Homeless student needs
  • Transportation requests for new students
  • Student/Parent appointments with counselor(s)
  • Resetting Parent Portal passwords (parents only)
  • Versatrans address checks
  • Answering phones; greeting and welcoming new visitors
  • Outside counselor check-ins with students
  • District error report clean-up
  • Maintaining Out-of-District spreadsheet

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 1-3 yrs. experience in an office administration or related position.
  • Must be able to type 60+ wpm
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate to students, parents and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to work with teachers, education support personnel, building administrators and the general public.
  • Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.

Compensation:

Fully Board Paid Medical, Dental, and Vision available. Per the 2026-2027 Administrative Assistant (Educational Office Personnel) Salary Schedule the starting pay range is $19.48 - $23.57 and is based upon experience.
