Citrus Psychotherapy Center is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team in supporting clients through telehealth services. In this full-time remote position based in Atlanta, Georgia, you will have the opportunity to deliver compassionate and professional mental health care to a diverse client base. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and interviews, documenting case histories and treatment progress throughout the duration of care.
  • Evaluate the mental, emotional, and behavioral health of clients using standardized assessment tools, collaborating with other health professionals as needed.
  • Design and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups that align with best practices in mental health treatment.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities to meet the diverse needs of clients.
  • Monitor clientsโ€™ progress against set goals and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, including psychiatrists and social workers, to create holistic intervention strategies and ensure continuity of care.
  • Proactively identify behaviors that may hinder recovery, and address these challenges in therapy sessions with clients and their support systems.
  • Provide guidance to family members and primary caregivers, helping them navigate the complexities of mental health challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a variety of clients ranging from children to adults, each facing unique mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma-related disorders. Citrus Psychotherapy Center appreciates the rich diversity of the Atlanta community; therefore, cultural competency and an empathetic approach to treatment are paramount in this role. You will directly contribute to improving the mental health outcomes of clients by providing individualized and evidence-based therapy tailored to their specific circumstances.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid and current licensure as LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Georgia.
  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Experience as a mental health counselor with a focus on individual and group therapy.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, ensuring efficient documentation and client tracking.
  • Understanding of various mental health diagnoses and treatment options, including co-occurring disorders and impacts of addiction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating compassion and the ability to build supportive therapeutic relationships with clients.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working in a remote telehealth setting is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary treatment teams and familiarity with integrated care models.
  • Understanding psychopharmacology, including the implications of prescribed medications on mental health.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
