We are looking for a Corporate Union Payroll Clerk to join the Corporate Accounting team in our Brea Office. The primary responsibility of the this position is to process company-wide union payroll.  The Corporate Union Payroll Clerk will also provide administrative support and perform other duties as assigned and/or directed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Process timely weekly, union payroll including the submission of the direct deposit to bank for distribution to employees, printing of live checks and distributing them to divisional offices.
  • Communicate any payroll challenges to supervisor immediately.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service to all employees, coworkers, and outside vendors (i.e. union trust employees) by answering all communications in a 24–48-hour period.
  • Provide support to the divisional payroll clerks and help them with any processing issues on their end. In addition, provide coverage for divisional payroll clerks when needed.
  • Keep current with union Master Labor Agreement, rates, and California and Federal basic labor laws.
  • Process union employee changes including, but not limited to rate increases, W-4 withholdings, direct deposits, garnishments, and 401k deductions.
  • Process union employment verification requests.
  • Effectively communicate updates, discrepancies, and other issues as needed with divisional payroll clerks.
  • Maintain accurate union employee personnel records.
  • Review and input new hire information into Vista (Viewpoint), Bid 2 Win, and Samba applications.
  • Process terminations.
  • E-verify.
  • Provide backup documents (i.e. trust fund reports) to Labor Compliance as requested.
  • Complete Federal (EFTPS) and State (EDD) tax deposits.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain an organized work environment.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned and/or requested.
