Role Summary:
The SBA Loan Production Assistant reports directly to the VP of SBA Division and requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and perform well under pressure. They are responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of SBA loan transactions from application through funding and post-closing. This role ensures loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant with SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), internal credit approvals, and regulatory requirements. The position serves as a central point of coordination between borrowers, lenders, attorneys, title companies, and internal departments to deliver timely, high-quality, and compliant SBA loan closings. In the SBA lending market, this position is typically classified as either an SBA Closer or SBA Processor.
What You Will Be Doing:
  1. Order, track, and evaluate third-party reports, including Preliminary title commitments and title policies, Flood determinations, Environmental reports, UCC searches, Appraisals and business valuations, IRS tax verification, CAIVRS and SAM checks
  2. Following up on missing documentation, insurance, appraisal orders, title documents etc.
  3. Coordinating with internal SBA team members and external partners-including title companies, escrow offices, insurance agents, and others-to ensure timely completion of all required tasks
  4. Reviews and ensures necessary borrowing entity documents are in file (partnership, LLC, trust, corporations, etc.) with correct signing authority
  5. Scan and maintain all loan documentation in the imaging system to ensure complete and audit-ready files
  6. Request, review, and ensure required insurance coverage
  7. Reviews packages for completion, accuracy, and SBA and Gesa CU compliance
  8. Work collaboratively with Credit Analysts and Gesa Credit Union Loan Processors to ensure all loan documentation requests are accurate, complete, and submitted timely in accordance with established guidelines and policies
  9. Assist in new account opening for new business members
  10. Facilitate loan closing with internal and external partners
  11. Perform final review of loan documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with SBA SOPs and all applicable federal guidelines
  12. Satisfaction of Equity Verification vs SBA Authorization/Terms and Conditions
  13. Set up wires and funding instructions
  14. Notifies SBA Relationship Manager of exceptions within the portfolio, and when appropriate, communicates directly with the customer to obtain required financial information.
  15. Confirm all closing conditions are met per SBA SOP and policy
  16. Ensure all credit conditions are met prior to loan disbursement
  17. Process, prepare and report withdrawn/declined loan applications.
  18. Creation of correspondence
  19. Assisting in loan write-up preparation
  20. Provide timely, complete, and accurate responses to inquiries, emails, phone calls, and other contact
  21. Work on SBA Loan Checklist for completeness and follow up on all pending documents.
  22. Keep track of all SBA Loan pipelines in process and assist in managing the closing process
  23. Must understand and perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other commercial lending compliance functions as applicable to job responsibilities
  24. Attend credit union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as approved by supervisor. Maintain awareness of policies and regulations related to duties and responsibilities.
  25. Complete disposition of declined/withdrawn loans
  26. Maintain high level of confidentiality relative to member's accounts/loans
  27. Work as a team member of the Commercial Lending Division to assure the highest and most professional level of service to Credit Union members
  28. Must collaborate with commercial lending teams to provide high levels of internal service and in job completion
  29. Process payment of SBA loan fees and maintains accurate records of such
  30. Contributes to effective Commercial Lending Division and credit union operations by performing other related duties as assigned

About You:
  1. Thorough knowledge of credit services and other credit union services
  2. Thorough knowledge of lending policies and procedures
  3. Proficient computer skills with collaboration and productivity tools including Windows-based operating systems and office suites (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); spreadsheet applications to organize data used for advanced data analysis; internet; email; and bank software
  4. Highly effective oral and written communication skills
  5. Highly effective self-management skills
  6. Ability to converse with business owners
  7. Ability to organize, prioritize and respond simultaneously to multiple tasks and requests
  8. Ability to work well in and contribute to a cohesive team environment
  9. Effectively communicate ideas and information, both verbal and written
  10. Display and maintain courtesy, tact and diplomacy with current and potential vendors, peers, and staff
  11. Capability of working effectively under limited supervision
  12. Knowledge of commercial construction is preferred

What You Will Need:
  1. High school graduate or GED required
  2. Two (2) to five (5) years of commercial loan processing experience
  3. Minimum two (2) years of experience with lending compliance
  4. Minimum of one (1) year of business lending and real estate experience

Richland, WA: $22.92-$38.19
Spokane WA: $22.92-$38.19
Renton, WA: $27.71-$46.18
