SPMF-Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation - North
Position Overview:
Reviews, audits, and processes approved timekeeping records. Uploads timekeeping records, administers payroll process and cycle, and closes payroll to general ledger and sub-ledger. Calculates, reconciles, and remits federal, state, and local tax withholdings and files tax returns. Conducts year-end close through to W-2 submission. Collaborates with technical, human resources or accounting teams to solve payroll issues.
Job Description:
EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
  • 4 years recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Working knowledge of payroll cycle and processes and applicable payroll laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of applicable wage and hour laws, payroll accounting practices, and payroll tax reporting and filing requirements.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and apply policies, procedures, practices, union bargaining agreements and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Ability to compute and apply basic mathematical functions and computations, including percentages, decimals and prorated amounts.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills with the ability to recognize, research and resolve questionable or complex data, and to determine solution or next steps.
  • Ability to communicate through verbal and written means, and to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Organization skills and attention to details.
  • Displays a customer service focus in all decisions and actions.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to complete assignments accurately and timely, and to meet strict timelines.
  • Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
