Payroll Manager and Human Resources


Location: Sonoma County, CA


Compensation: $70,000–$90,000 DOE


Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, bilingual Payroll Manager | Human Resources to join a growing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong payroll expertise who also enjoys supporting HR operations, benefits administration, employee relations, and cross-functional collaboration. Experience with Paycom is highly preferred.

Human Resources Responsibilities

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee training.
  • Prepare and maintain new hire packets and HR documentation.
  • Maintain employee personnel files (electronic and paper) and perform periodic file audits.
  • Administer HR records while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Assist with benefits administration and workers' compensation cases.
  • Serve as a resource for employees by responding to HR-related questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Utilize Paycom and the company's HRIS system for daily HR activities.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail distribution.
  • Run occasional business errands, including bank deposits and office supply purchases.

Payroll Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain payroll, benefits, workers' compensation, attendance, and leave records.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Calculate payroll deductions, taxes, garnishments, and benefit deductions.
  • Manage payroll processing through Paycom.
  • Set up employee timekeeping and assist employees with payroll and time-entry questions.
  • Balance payroll accounts, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports and support payroll audits as needed.
  • Meet all payroll deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracy.

Accounting & Reporting

  • Collaborate closely with the Accounting team on payroll and benefit reconciliations.
  • Prepare payroll expense, tax, and benefits reports.
  • Record and document payroll information within Acumatica.
  • Prepare daily deposits and maintain accurate financial documentation.

Customer Service

  • Provide exceptional internal customer service to employees and managers.
  • Respond promptly to payroll and HR inquiries.
  • Assist employees with Paycom access, time entry, benefits, and payroll questions.
  • Partner with department managers to resolve payroll and HR-related issues efficiently.

Organizational Skills

  • Effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities and shifting deadlines.
  • Maintain organized payroll and HR records.
  • Continuously improve payroll and HR processes.
  • Stay current on payroll regulations and employment law changes.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong payroll processing experience required.
  • Experience with Paycom strongly preferred.
  • Experience with benefits administration and workers' compensation and reconciliation
  • Strong Excel and computer skills.
