This role involves transporting sand from mines to drilling sites, ensuring timely delivery for energy production. Being part of a union may provide benefits like collective bargaining, job security, and better working conditions. To thrive as a Union Frac Sand Owner Operator, you need a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), knowledge of safe hauling practices, and experience operating heavy trucks and managing logistics. Familiarity with ELD (Electronic Logging Device) systems, truck maintenance software, and compliance with DOT regulations is essential. Strong time management, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication with dispatchers and site supervisors are valuable soft skills. These are crucial for ensuring safe, efficient transport of frac sand to drilling locations while meeting both union and client expectations.

Being flexible and dependable is key, as schedules can change with little notice based on industry needs. The structure of the work can offer steady income, but it does demand commitment to variable hours and travel.
