Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Transload Operator performs specified tasks at a transload facility to meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals while supporting the policies, procedures and objectives of the Company.  Safely loads and unloads frac sand between truck, rail and silo.

The Transload Operator demonstrates and adheres to the company values of: safety, honesty, ownership, respect and teamwork to ensure successful partnerships with customers and employees that result in OmniTRAX’s continued success.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safely, load and unload (i.e. “transload”) frac sand between truck, rail and silo as required at a particular facility
  • Safely operate various types of equipment: rail car movers, RBT’s or Wilson’s, etc.
  • Inspect and trouble shoot equipment; perform minor repairs and routine maintenance of equipment
  • Report verbally and in writing as required; maintain accurate records: activity, inventory, incidents, violations, maintenance, etc.
  • Safely direct truck drivers to proper loading/unloading areas: operate truck scale and prepare/distribute truck Bills of Ladings
  • Follow all Company and facility-specific policies and procedures pertaining to job function and equipment, and safety
  • Participate in keeping the facility and equipment clean and maintained
  • Monitor third parties performing work at the facility
  • Recommend changes to the operation which may produce safer work processes, cost savings and efficiencies
OTHER DUTIES
  • Participate in general training and job specific training a training as required; successfully complete written examinations
  • Participate in the set-up of new facilities and equipment
  • Report for duty at alternate sites within 20 mi (32 km) radius of primary on-duty point; work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime and various shift work
  • Work safely to prevent on the job accidents and injuries
  • Wear required protective equipment (PPE) such as: hard hats, hearing protection, safety-toe boots, safety glasses etc.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Prior experience operating forklifts.
  • Operate machinery and perform basic mechanical service and repairs
  • Understand and comply with procedures pertaining to emergencies
  • Work cooperatively with superiors and other employees
  • Focused and detail oriented: complete quality work timely
  • Self-motivated; carry out tasks independently to meet deadlines and company/customer expectations
  • Basic computer skills
  • Write legibly to complete routine reports and other work documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively communicate with all level of employees and business associates in a clear, concise and professional manner
  • Produce effective verbal and/or written daily reports for both internal and external use
  • Read, comprehend and comply with published rules, procedures and manuals, inspection checklists, government regulation, operating and maintenance instructions, memos and other work-related information

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Previous experience in Rail Transportation, Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing and/or Oil & Gas industries
  • High School Diploma/GED
