Overview

We are looking to employ experienced Concrete Foreman to lead a crew performing a range of duties that are crucial for safe and successful concrete installation and maintenance. 


Foremen will be accountable to our General Superintendent for safely and efficiently managing company resources to provide high-quality projects for our customers.


Responsibilities

At J.J. Barney Construction, you will have responsibilities based on the construction project’s needs. They will typically include, but may not be limited to:

  • Ensuring safe practices during construction, including keeping a clean and organized jobsite
  • Efficient management of company resources including labor, equipment, and materials
  • Understanding plans, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure accurate execution of work
  • Preparation and submission of daily reports, timesheets, safety forms, resource orders, and similar documents


Experience and Skills Required:

  • Ability to effectively organize and direct labor resources while providing on-the-job training
  • Proficiency in layout, grades, and blueprint reading
  • Experience with ordering necessary materials and equipment in timely and efficient manner
  • Ability to identify and address potential design, construction, and scheduling issues
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks that may include kneeling, bending, and lifting heavy items
  • Strong work ethic with an unwavering commitment to quality and professional work
  • Ability to carefully follow written and verbal directions
  • Prior experience as a Concrete Foreman or similar role is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is preferred
  • OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training is preferred
