Job description

Position Summary Resume & Cover Letter Required. Perform general laborer tasks for Grant County Public Works Road Districts at various locations throughout Grant County and Solid Waste Ephrata Landfill. This position is primarily assigned to Public Works (Road Districts).

This job class is represented by the Grant County Public Employees' Association. All employees hired into this position are required to become and remain members in good standing of the Union within 30 days of beginning employment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To assist with the overall operations of the Grant County Public Works Department.

This Position aides the Public Works Road Districts with assignments of general laborer tasks and flagging/traffic control Education, Experience, and Licensing High School Diploma or GED 18 years of age or older Valid Washington State Driver's License with proof of automobile insurance. Strong ethical integrity in working with the public and in government operations. Some positions may require basic math skills.

Physical Abilities and Working Conditions Road District Divisions: Work is performed in the field in a variety of weather conditions. The work involves being around road equipment where special care in observing safe operating practices is required. Physical Requirements: The physical abilities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, write, hear, speak, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, go up and down a ladder and/or step stool to retrieve/file away files, and lift up and/or move up to 50 lbs. of unequal weight. The position required the employee to stand and/or site for 8+ hours per day, 5 days per week.
