About this Role

PAR Electrical Contractors, LLC is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the development of accurate, competitive, and strategic cost estimates for complex electrical construction projects. This role plays a critical part in supporting business growth by evaluating project opportunities, identifying risks, and building pricing strategies that align with operational capabilities and customer requirements. The Senior Estimator partners closely with operations, project management, procurement, and leadership to help position projects for successful execution.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages for electrical construction projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and other bid documents to develop complete and accurate pricing
  • Analyze labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and indirect cost requirements
  • Solicit, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations for completeness and competitiveness
  • Identify scope gaps, design conflicts, and project risks and incorporate them into estimate strategy
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and internal estimate review discussions
  • Collaborate with operations and project teams to align estimate assumptions with execution plans
  • Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and hard bid estimates for a range of project opportunities
  • Develop value engineering ideas and alternative approaches to improve competitiveness and project outcomes
  • Support proposal development, clarifications, and post-bid negotiations as needed
  • Maintain estimating documentation, historical cost data, and reporting tools to support continuous improvement
  • Mentor junior estimators and contribute to estimating standards, processes, and best practices
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
  • 7+ years of estimating experience in electrical construction, utility, industrial, or infrastructure projects
  • Strong ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Demonstrated experience developing detailed estimates for large or complex projects
  • Knowledge of labor productivity, material pricing, equipment costs, and subcontractor markets
  • Understanding of construction means and methods, project sequencing, and risk evaluation
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and bid management tools
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners
  • High attention to detail and sound judgment in evaluating project scope and pricing strategy
