Overview
River's Edge Insurance Solutions, a surplus lines insurance brokerage and managing general underwriter licensed in all 50 states, is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Analytics Intern to assist with various administrative tasks in our Richmond, VA office. The ideal candidate for this role is a current college student or recent graduate who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a professional setting. You will provide essential support to our team, and have the opportunity to develop your skills and grow in a supportive and dynamic environment.
In this role you will:

  • Provide support to ensure deadlines are met, while maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment
  • Assist in the analysis and assembly of reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Create, maintain, and enter information into spreadsheets, databases, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and visualization
  • Develop and implement Python scripts for web scraping and data extraction
  • Support senior sales and business development personnel in creating and pitching sports-related promotions
  • Assist with any overflow work

What we're looking for
  • A current college student or recent college graduate to work in our Richmond, VA office at least 15 hours per week
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including functions, pivot tables, and data visualization
  • Experience with Python for web scraping and data manipulation
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Detail oriented; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Must be a self starter, a quick learner, and resourceful in solving problems
