Position Summary
The employee(s) hired for this position will serve as part of a temporary pool of reserve housekeepers for UNC Asheville.
Responsibilities may include: performing general cleaning services, emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning restrooms, windows and doors daily, using a building checklist, maintaining all housekeeping equipment, and reporting problems daily. Requires the use of automated cleaning equipment and commercial cleaning chemicals.

Minimum Education/Experience/Skills
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some knowledge of cleaning procedures; ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
The preferred candidate will have a valid driver's license. It is preferred that the employee be a high school graduate and have some previous experience in the cleaning of public buildings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of basic cleaning procedures and supplies. Ability to communicate with fellow workers in a manner that allows work to be completed. Ability to listen and respond to customer needs promptly and respectfully. Recognizes and follows dispenser directions to properly mix cleaning chemicals.
