KBS CFO, one of the early adopters of the CPA-led, Virtual CFO model, is in search of a Accounting Manager to join our team.

Recognizing that there are many talented individuals that have a lot to contribute to an organization, but, are either not able to, or prefer not to work full time, KBS CFO has developed a business model that provides employees with an opportunity to learn, grow and contribute, while providing the ability to perform job responsibilities in a virtual and flexible work environment.
Part time position starting at .5 FTE with the potential to expand to FTE assuming interest and capabilities are aligned. Potential to expand to full time within 3 -6 months, if desired. Organization is structured to accommodate those looking for a very rewarding position while allowing for work/life balance.
You will be responsible for managing the accounting operation as a part of a team for 2 - 5 clients
Primary responsibilities for the position include:
- Managing and oversight of the general accounting function(s), including the records and operation of accounting systems, the gathering and reporting of financial information
- Financial reporting interpretation, analysis and review
- Virtual meetings with clients to discuss the financial results and ensure that KBS is providing the client with the services and accounting information needed to grow and prosper
- Advising client management regarding matters, such as effective use of resources and methods, cash flow forecasting
- Interpretation of accounts and records to client management.
- Management of third party integration into accounting system
- Projecting accounting data to show effects of proposed plans on investments, cash, and overall financial condition
- Assures standard accounting procedures are adhered to and supervises the maintenance of the accounting and voucher files.
- Trains and manages team members
- Ensures longer-term functional objectives are translated into shorter-term tasks
- Establishes processes/procedures, when necessary, to ensure the effective and efficient operation of a somewhat complex function
- Special projects as needed
- Meeting financial reporting and other deadlines aligned with a conventional accounting department
The background and experience of candidates interested in applying for the position should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA or CGMA designation preferred
- Industry knowledge - light manufacturing, professional services providers, eCommerce, craft beverage
- 6-8 years of experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated accounting software knowledge in any or a combination of the following: Intacct, Unanet, Orchestrated Spirits, Sage products, QuickBooks Enterprise (desktop), Xero
- Prior financial reporting experience, including historical and forecast reports and related analyses.
- Strong technology adoption skills
- Proficiency adopting technology to automate accounting processes
- For those choosing to work virtually, home office environment conducive to productivity and ensuring the security of client information (minimum system requirements must be met)
- Accounting Software knowledge of Unanet, Sage Intacct, construction accounting software
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving and relationship building skills.

The current position is part time, with plans for it to expand it to full time, assuming candidate is performing it's job duties effectively.
