The School is located in the heart of Kansas City on the Health Science District campus, along with the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine and Pharmacy. The School of Nursing and Health Studies, with over 1,400 students, offers pre-licensure BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD programs. The School has full accreditation from the Commission for Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and UMKC has NCA accreditation. We are a team with a passion for nursing and a mission to improve health outcomes for all. T he School values excellence in teaching, scholarship, clinical practice, and service. Three teaching hospitals, the Health Department and several clinics are adjacent to the campus. Job Description
The School of Nursing and Health Studies at the University of Missouri - Kansas City seeks applications for a 9-month ranked, non-tenure track Assistant Clinical Professor or Associate Clinical Professor, to teach a variety of didactic and clinical courses within our undergraduate BSN program .
The faculty selected for this position will be expected to:
  • teach in the undergraduate program (full- time);
  • provide service appropriate to the position;
  • advance the goals of the School of Nursing and the University of Missouri-Kansas City's Strategic Plan;
  • remain current in clinical practice; and
  • provide guidance in the application of technology to nursing.

The School seeks faculty of regional or national prominence to teach in our innovative programs. Accredited by the Commission for Collegiate Nursing Education.
Qualifications
To be considered for a ranked non-tenure track position of Associate Clinical Professor, you must have PhD or DNP in nursing or related field.
To be considered for ranked non-tenure track position of Assistant Clinical Professor, you must have at a minimum an earned Master's degree in nursing or related field.
In addition to the above, you must also have:
  • at least five years of clinical expertise in adult medical/surgical nursing;
  • a record of quality teaching and service appropriate to the rank;
  • expertise in applying technology, including computer skills, to nursing;
  • eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Missouri;
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and,
  • the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and student teams.

Preferred Qualifications
Clinical experience and/or expertise in pre-licensure baccalaureate clinical/lab education related to critical care and/or psychiatric nursing .
Anticipated Hiring Range
Compensation is commensurate with rank, qualifications/credentials, instructional experience and prior research practice. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible, 9-month, ranked non-tenure track position eligible for ranked non-tenure track promotion.
August 2026 start date is targeted, but negotiable. Our academic schedules and workload provide for a positive work/life balance.
