Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The CTRC is a research environment that cares for research participants on clinical trials. The clinical trials may be phase I trials, gene therapy, radioligand investigational products or investigational devices. The CTRC nurse practitioner will serve as a provider for many different studies and will see a very diverse population, including infants, children, and the elderly. The NP will be responsible for obtaining informed consent, checking eligibility and exclusion criteria and for monitoring patients receiving investigational products. Travel to other locations within the UCLA Health System and the UCLA campus will be required. The NP will work collaboratively with the principle investigator for each study as well as the medical director of the CTRC. In addition, the NP will be asked to help with occasional routine bedside care, including blood draws and IV insertions.
Salary range: $93.81- $133.97/hourly
Job Qualifications

  • BLS Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association-required
  • CA RN and CA NP License-required
  • National Certification in FNP Specialty-required
  • MSN or DNP-required
  • 1-2 years experience as NP in an urgent care or emergency department- preferred
  • Research experience -preferred
  • Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs-required
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel-required
  • Skill in working independently and following through with minimum directions-required
  • Ability to set priorities-required
  • Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence-required
  • Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner-required

As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
