Job description

Build the Infrastructure That Powers Modern Business
Networking Technologies + Support (NTS) has been delivering trusted IT solutions since 1997. As a leading Managed Services Provider (MSP), we design, install, and support technology solutions for commercial, healthcare, education, and government clients.
We're looking for a versatile Structured Cabling & Ubiquiti Field Technician who enjoys working with both low-voltage cabling and network infrastructure. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who can install structured cabling, racks, conference room technology, and Ubiquiti networking equipment while providing exceptional service to our clients.
Responsibilities
Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
Install cable pathways, patch panels, faceplates, cable management systems, and equipment racks.
Mount televisions, digital displays, monitors, and interactive presentation equipment.
Install and configure conference room technology, including displays, cameras, microphones, speakers, and collaboration systems.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot Ubiquiti UniFi products, including:
Access Points (Wi-Fi)
UniFi Switches
UniFi Gateways
Cloud Keys
UniFi Controllers
Perform wireless access point installations and optimize Wi-Fi coverage.
Label, document, and certify cabling installations using industry best practices.
Assist with MDF/IDF build-outs, rack organization, cable management, and equipment installations.
Troubleshoot structured cabling, network connectivity, and endpoint issues.
Read and interpret floor plans, wiring diagrams, and network layouts.
Maintain accurate documentation and update project records.
Work independently and collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and customers.
Travel to client sites throughout Virginia as needed.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of structured cabling and low-voltage installation experience.
Hands-on experience installing and supporting Ubiquiti UniFi networking equipment.
Experience installing:
Network racks and cabinets
Patch panels
Wireless access points
TVs and digital displays
Conference room technology
Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA).
Experience terminating copper cabling and performing cable testing.
Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and PoE.
Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, and installation tools.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
BICSI certification
CompTIA Network+
Ubiquiti UniFi certification or equivalent experience
Experience with surveillance camera installations
Experience installing access control systems
Experience with Microsoft 365 and basic desktop support
Experience working in healthcare, education, or commercial environments
Previous Managed Services Provider (MSP) experience
Location: Richmond, VA (Travel to Client Sites Required)
Schedule: Monday - Friday | Full-Time
Pay: Pay: $28-$32 per hour (Based on Experience)
