Job description

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Supervisor to manage operations at our High Cube Center/HCC. Reporting to the Superintendent and Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end flow of materials and the direct supervision of a team. This role requires a leader who can navigate a fast-paced environment, manage labor relations with the UAW, and drive operational excellence through data-driven decision-making. You will play a critical role in maintaining building safety, organizational cleanliness, and overall customer satisfaction to ensure dealer shipping deadlines are consistently met or exceeded.

  • Experience: 1-3 years of operational supervisor experience (HVC/HCC experience highly preferred).
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Labor Relations: Previous experience in a UAW or unionized supervisory environment is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of or the ability to learn current systems (SAP/EWM).
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to demand accountability.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret data, evaluate actions, and reach logical conclusions independently.
  • Mindset: A self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset and a proven record of dependability.
  • Schedule Requirements: Must be able to work outside traditional hours (current operations run 6:00 AM - 1:30 AM), including weekends and overtime as business dictates.
  • Resilience: Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment to meet strict dealer shipping deadlines.
  • Operational Oversight: Supervise all inbound, outbound, and claims processing operations to ensure seamless material flow.
  • Performance Management: Deliver on key objectives including Building Safety, Inventory Accuracy, Error/Denial Rates, LPMH, and On-Time Delivery.
  • Workforce Management: Schedule the workforce (overtime and vacation), manage absenteeism, and ensure accurate application of Ford-UAW National and Local Contracts.
  • Leadership & Mentoring: Provide direct supervision, training, and mentoring to GSR 6 supervisors and hourly crews; facilitate crew meetings and resolve grievances.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion initiatives toward best-in-class performance and ensure adherence to ISO 14001 Environmental Responsibilities.
  • Administration: Prepare and maintain work-related records, monitor grid time, and ensure overall building organization and cleanliness.
  • Operational Flexibility: Support all shifts as required and cover crews during supervisor absences.
