Job description

Overview
LMI is seeking a C-UAS Engineer to lead planning and execution of test and evaluation projects for our DHS client. Candidates should have strong project management abilities to lead planning and execution of test and evaluation and C-UAS projects for our DHS client in collaboration with other federal agencies (FBI, DOD, other). This is an on-site position in the New York City area and requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. You must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support to NUSTL's Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) Programs and Projects
  • Integrate C-UAS systems from commercial and government off-the-shelf component sensors
  • Provide hands on set-up and operations of C-UAS technology systems for demonstration including set-up and tear-down, logistical support and system operations support
  • Develop accompanying documentation (e.g., system specifications and CAD drawings)
  • Work hands-on with customers to build C-UAS systems in the laboratory and support product integrations in customer/partner environments
  • Assist with gathering and validating customer requirements
  • Assist in the development of test strategies for anticipated test activities involving a variety of sensor modalities, including radars, electro-optical and infra-red (EO/IR), passive and active RF, and acoustic sensors
  • Assist in the drafting of test planning documents
  • Assist in the planning and execution of tests, field assessments, and other test events
  • Collect and analyze test data in R, Python, or other languages / tools
  • Assist with drafting and editing of test reports and other technical documents
  • Develop project documents such as project charters, project management plans, weekly and monthly reports, and other reporting documents

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in applicable engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of relevant engineering and technical experience; 1+ years of relevant experience with a master's degree
  • Interdisciplinary engineering skillsets is preferred
  • Knowledge of geospatial analysis tools (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS API for Python)
  • Part 107 UAS Certification is desired but not required
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external customers
  • Strong team player with customer-focused attitude
  • Occasional travel required to various test sites
  • Ability to pass a DHS background investigation and obtain a Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain SECRET-level clearance and DHS Suitability

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for a U.S. Government security clearance. Only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance. For this position, LMI will only consider applicants with security clearances or applicants who are eligible for security clearances, due to the nature of the work.
