UX writing is the practice of crafting the text that appears throughout digital products, such as websites, apps, and software interfaces. This includes everything from buttons and menus to error messages and onboarding instructions. The goal of UX writing is to guide users clearly and efficiently, helping them complete tasks and understand the product. UX writers collaborate closely with designers, researchers, and product teams to ensure the language used is user-centered and consistent with the overall brand voice.

Job description

About Atria:
The Atria Health Institute is a membership-based primary and specialty health care practice with a focus on prevention and longevity. We bring together a multidisciplinary team of renowned physicians to provide proactive, preventive, and precision-based care for Atria members and their families. All care, including primary care, advanced screening and diagnostics, urgent care, specialty care, 24/7 home visits, and imaging is included in members' annual fee.
Our mission is to make healthspan and lifespan equal for all by translating science into medicine in real-time, all while bringing humanity back into health care. Delivering such robust, personalized, and preventive health care is complex and requires a team-wide dedication to excellence.
After successfully opening our flagship Institute in New York in 2022 and expanding to South Florida in 2024, we are now bringing the Atria experience to the West Coast with the launch of our Los Angeles Institute in late spring 2026.
About this role:
At Atria, the member experience extends from the exam room to every surface a member touches. The words on our app, in our notifications, across our onboarding flows, and throughout our member portal are part of how we deliver on our promise of exceptional, human-centered care.
We're looking for a UX Writer to own the language that lives across our app, portal, and other digital products. You'll sit at the intersection of brand and product - bringing Atria's voice to the places where members engage with us most directly.
What you'll do
Write the words that make our product work. Craft clear, purposeful microcopy across our app and digital surfaces - from onboarding flows and navigation labels to error states, tooltips, push notifications, and empty states. This includes motivating and explanatory copy - the in-app language that contextualizes health data, introduces features, and helps members understand what they're seeing and why it matters.
Write with both precision and warmth, making complex health information feel human and actionable.
Bring Atria's voice into the product. Partner closely with product designers and engineers to ensure that in-product language is consistent with Atria's brand voice - warm, authoritative, and never unnecessarily clinical. You are responsible for the voice of the brand inside our products.
Work across the full product lifecycle. Contribute to the product development process from discovery through launch - attending design reviews, participating in user research, and advocating for the member's perspective at every stage.
Build and maintain our content system. Develop and document UX writing guidelines, voice and tone frameworks, and content patterns that keep our language consistent as our product grows.
Collaborate cross-functionally. Work closely with the content, product, design, legal, and ops teams to ensure alignment between what we say in our product and what we say everywhere else.
Work with AI thoughtfully. AI is becoming a meaningful part of how health data is recorded, interpreted, and communicated. You'll help ensure that AI-assisted outputs feel consistent with Atria's voice and earn member trust. Whether that means writing prompts, editing outputs, or building guardrails into our content system, you'll be one of the people figuring out what responsible AI communication looks like in a health care context.
Bring a team-first mindset. Like everyone on our team, you'll take on projects outside your immediate scope. We're a growing company, and the people who thrive here are the ones who lean in when something needs doing.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000
Requirements
  • You have 5-7 years of experience writing UX copy for consumer-facing digital products, and a portfolio that demonstrates it - including end-to-end case studies showing how you took a feature from concept to shipped copy. Experience at a consumer health or wellness technology company is a strong plus.
  • You understand that UX writing is not copywriting with less space. You think in systems, you know why consistency matters, and you're comfortable pushing back when a design choice undercuts the experience.
  • You can rigorously maintain our brand voice. Atria's members are smart, health-conscious, busy people who want to be spoken to like adults - not managed, and not sold to.
  • You're comfortable moving between content and product worlds, and you can work effectively with designers, engineers, and product managers.
  • You're organized and self-directed. This role spans across teams and domains and requires someone who can manage their own work without a lot of hand-holding.
  • You're curious about health, science, and longevity and you understand that caring about the subject makes the writing better.

Benefits
At Atria, we are proud to offer every member of the Atria team:
  • Excellent health and wellness benefits, fully covered by Atria, effective date of hire
  • OneMedical membership for employees & dependents, giving access to 24/7 virtual care
  • Fertility & family planning
  • Company-covered preventive health screenings through partner hospitals (calcium score)
  • Fitness Perks, including Wellhub +
  • 401k contributions and 4% match starting after 6 months
  • Flexible Time Off
  • Continuing medical education (CME) and CEU support for professional licensure
