Job description

OBGYN Generalist/Hospitalist Position Available

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at our organization, a prominent teaching hospital affiliated with a major medical school, is actively seeking both full-time and part-time OBGYN generalists/hospitalists. Our goal is to provide compassionate and high-quality care to our patients. Currently, the OBGYN Generalist Division comprises nine full-time faculty members, several part-time roles, and advanced practice providers, and is experiencing rapid growth. Faculty members serve as primary care providers while also supervising residents and medical students in both inpatient and outpatient environments. This role offers the potential for an academic faculty appointment at the affiliated medical school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional care within a collaborative team framework.
  • Enjoy a flexible yet structured schedule, including the option for 12-hour shifts.
  • Provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological services for inpatients, including managing high-risk pregnancies, labor and delivery, emergency consultations, surgical procedures, and postoperative care.
  • Perform both routine and advanced procedures, such as vaginal and cesarean deliveries, gynecological surgeries, and necessary emergency interventions.
  • Offer care in our outpatient OBGYN clinics.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and educational conferences.
  • Engage in ongoing education and training to remain updated on the latest advancements in OBGYN practices and technologies.
  • Assist in the education and supervision of medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and engage in quality improvement and research initiatives as appropriate.
Qualifications

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled professional who meets the following criteria:

  • Board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in California.
  • Previous experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional patient care abilities.
  • A strong passion for medical education.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in a team setting.
  • Exhibit empathy, warmth, and inclusivity, serving as a role model for faculty, residents, and students.
