Job description

General Description: This position provides responsibility for label design, documentation, and review of the label life cycle from creation to release deliverables for production, including control of label inventories in JDE to ensure label compliance at the contract manufacturers.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and modify label typography/typesetting for Life Extension. (Domestic / International), Wholesale customer labels and other private labels based on domestic regulations and branding guidelines.
  • Responsible for label art file creation and revision (using InDesign and Illustrator); including but not limited to addition of product specific details (product name, facts panel, claims, etc.) and adjustment of font style, size, and color, and generating UPC and QR codes.
  • Ensure label requirements meet the vision for design elements proposed by cross-functional teams, which may include participation in multiple strategy meetings with different internal departments.
  • Seamlessly communicate effectively across several different functional areas including Purchasing, Technical Services and Product Development, Marketing and Wholesale.
  • Create and monitor Destruction Requests to Contract Manufacturers and all necessary follow-ups to ensure compliance.
  • Willingness to mentor and train junior staff.
  • Minimum 2 days onsite per week is an essential function of this position.
  • Additional duties as needed.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, art, or related discipline.
  • Five or more years of experience with design software, focused on InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Technical skills to work with popular graphic design InDesign Software including review for label format set up, font size, supplement facts, claims among other requirements.
  • Experience in dietary supplement label regulations and label set up.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to build skill set with education and training.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, technical, and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to perform highly accurate work.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage projects and delegate.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and design (In-Design and Illustrator) software environment.
