Requirements:

  • Basic math skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Possess a strong work ethic and good attendance history
  • Ability to adjust to both hot and cold environments
  • Capacity and stamina to work in a physically demanding environment; standing, bending, stooping and lift/push up to 50lbs

Seek to train for the 5th Hand position on the paper machine crew. The 5th Hand assists with end-winder operations of the paper-making process. Also, assists the beater room and machine crew during paper breaks to ensure optimum runnability.

Responsibilities:

  • coring, size adjustments, banding, weighing, wrapping, and stenciling
  • transporting finished rolls to storage
  • preparing and stocking supplies, and general housekeeping
  • Other duties assigned as needed

ProAmpac's Norfolk, NY site is a 24/7 manufacturing facility producing rolls of specialty graft Paper from 100% recycled material. This position works a 12- hour rotating swing shift, a uniquely designed schedule that allows for the benefit of working (on average) fifteen 12-hour shifts per month, leaving fifteen non-workdays, with seven that are consecutive. This equates to one week off per month without skipping a paycheck. No more than four 12-hour shifts are worked consecutively during the cycle.

*Hourly wage scale for this position is $21.37-$23.37 an hour
