Overview

Networking Infrastructure is a core part of the platform that powers all our data and AI products and security features, enabling connectivity to cloud resources and preventing data exfiltration.

We are seeking experienced Senior Software Engineers with large-scale distributed systems experience to join the Networking Infrastructure team. You will design and automate the networking foundations for large-scale compute clusters across all major cloud providers, connecting millions of VMs running on Databricks. You will lead the design and development of secure and scalable connectivity that powers data and AI workloads. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and other engineering teams, to ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and efficient networking systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about solving novel multicloud and distributed systems challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Design and automate networking foundations for large-scale compute clusters across major cloud providers
  • Connect millions of virtual machines running on Databricks
  • Lead the design and development of secure and scalable connectivity for data and AI workloads
  • Collaborate with product management, operations, and other engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable networking systems
  • Contribute as a hands-on leader in a fast-paced, multicloud, distributed-systems environment
What we look for
  • 5+ years of production-level experience in one of: Python, Java, Scala, C++, or a similar language
  • 4+ years of experience developing large-scale distributed systems from scratch
  • Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures
  • Extensive experience with large-scale compute clusters, network connectivity, and automation
Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role are listed below and represent the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. The total compensation package may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
