ROLE OVERVIEW:

Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 6:00PM - 6:00 AM with frequent Saturday work. Hours may vary depending on weather and customer demand.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

  1. Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
  2. Excavating and breaking hard rock for aggregate production.
  3. Efficiently transferring excavated material to trucks or conveyers.
  4. Stabilizing mining slopes to ensure safety and prevent collapses.
  5. Compact excavator for precise digging in confined spaces.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

  1. Safety first attitude required
  2. Previous experience operating CAT 374 (200k lbs.) Hydraulic Excavator
  3. Previous experience working at aggregate plants or mines
  4. Able to provide and maintain the proper licensure and driving record
  5. Ability to pass a criminal background and pre-employment drug screen

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily)

  1. Knowledge of plant operation, conveyor systems, and maintenance.
  2. Must have good mechanical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
  3. Need positive attitude and the ability to work well with others and follow directions.
  4. Equipment operation skills helpful.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  1. Extensive walking on uneven surfaces.
  2. Lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
  3. Exposure to dust, fumes, odors.
  4. Hand eye coordination.
  5. Exposure to mists, adhesives, acids.
  6. Frequent and/or extended periods requiring kneeling, bending, and/or twisting.
  7. Operating equipment at night under artificial lighting.
  8. Working in all weather conditions for extended period of time
