Job description

At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Pacifica, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Pacifica, CA

Details:

  • In-Person Tutoring in Pacifica, CA
  • Schedule: 16 hours, 2 days a week for 2 hours
  • Pay range is between $25 and $35 per hour

Ideal Candidate:

  • Teaching credential required
  • Experience supporting students with Autism and diverse learning needs
  • Strong background in secondary mathematics, including pre-algebra, algebra, two-variable equations, and problem-solving
  • Knowledge of Integrated Math curriculum and ability to prepare students for success in Integrated Math 2
  • Familiarity with Biology concepts and high school science readiness instruction
  • Experience teaching executive functioning skills, including organization, task initiation, planning, and study strategies
  • Familiarity with Khan Academy, IXL, or similar academic learning platforms preferred
  • Patient, calm, and skilled at supporting students who may become frustrated or overwhelmed
  • Able to provide clear, direct instruction while maintaining a positive and encouraging learning environment
  • Strong lesson-planning skills with the ability to differentiate instruction based on student needs
  • Comfortable incorporating student interests into lessons to increase engagement and motivation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction to strengthen foundational math skills and prepare the student for Integrated Math 2
  • Teach and reinforce concepts such as algebraic thinking, two-variable equations, problem-solving strategies, and mathematical reasoning
  • Support biology readiness through foundational science concepts and study skills development
  • Utilize structured lessons, guided practice, and ongoing review to build academic confidence and skill mastery
  • Teach executive functioning strategies, including organization, planning, task completion, time management, and independent learning skills
  • Leverage educational tools such as Khan Academy, IXL, and other curriculum resources to supplement instruction
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on observed strengths and areas of need
  • Implement structured routines, clear expectations, and positive reinforcement to support engagement and learning
  • Provide patient, calm redirection and support during moments of frustration or dysregulation
  • Incorporate the student's interests, including puzzles, trains, video games, and technology-based activities, to increase motivation and participation
  • Foster academic independence while building confidence and resilience in challenging subjects
