Job description

Overview
Tutor pharmacy students on how to be an effective learner of concepts and skills taught in the pharmacy program.
Responsibilities
  • Effectively tutor students individually or in small groups
  • Review concepts, terminologies, and skills taught in the class
  • Create and review practice problems covered in class and based on the course textbooks
  • Prepare students for assessments including providing study and time management strategies
  • Keep daily record of students tutored and materials utilized. Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Degrees
  • Enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy and in good academic-standing

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, professional outlook as well as demonstrated good time management, coping strategies and work ethic
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Willingness to help fellow colleagues become better learners under stressful conditions

PREFERRED:
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
  • Demonstration of academic distinction (e.g., Dean's List, Rho Chi-inducted member)
  • Endorsement from the course coordinator of the course(s) the tutor will be tutoring
