WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

COMPENSATION: $86,452.11/year + DOE + Benefits, Exempt Permanent Full-Time Position

The Inupiaq way of life is woven into our curriculum, programs, activities, and daily interactions within Ilisagvik College and our community partners.


SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under the supervision of the Dean of Students, the Student Services Manager assists with the development and implementation of Ilisagvik College's student-centered programs for prospective and new students.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides direct supervision and leadership to assigned staff to ensure effective performance and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Ilisagvik College's student-centered program, wellbeing initiatives, and services for both in-person and online students
  • Support Academic Affairs with the First Year Pathway (FYP) and Student Mentoring Advocating Referring Total Success (SMARTS) program by reaching out to new and first-year students - both in person and online - during the summer before the term begins, and regularly and frequently during the fall and spring semesters.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and assessment of first year initiatives and other program activities by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Coordinate tutoring services for students, including identifying tutors, tracking tutoring hours, outreach to faculty regarding tutoring services available for students, and outreach to students - both in person and online.
  • Plan and coordinate programs that assist with retention, persistence, and graduation for both in-person and online students.
  • Coordinate and lead one or more parent and family information sessions and/or events each semester (fall and spring) for in-person as well as online student parents to share information on college academic programs and student wellbeing initiatives.
  • Provides early onboarding for all newly admitted students - both in person and online - who are degree seeking.
  • Support the development and execution of the summer bridge program as well as tutoring support.
  • Meet with the Student Government Association, attend meetings, and provide support as needed.
  • Assist the Executive Assistant to Student Services with testing responsibilities, including serving as a proctor for placement tests, etc.
  • Serve in the on-call rotation for Student Services
  • Serve as the Confidential Resource for Title IX inquiries.
  • Complies with College policies, procedures and administrative directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Three years' work experience with special educations and/or working with people with disabilities, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Three years' experience in education or closely related setting with a demonstrated knowledge of crisis response, student conduct, student affairs administration, and case management support.
  • Working knowledge of relevant state and federal laws including FERPA, HIPAA, ADA, and Title IX.
  • Demonstrated professional work experience in group settings and in substance abuse interventions.
  • Demonstrated professional work experience serving as community liaison.
  • Possess excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written, and exercise sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to provide clean DMV report prior to employment.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following areas: post-secondary educational systems, North Slope Borough [NSB] institutions and organizations; Inupiat culture, language, values, and traditions.
  • Ability to interpret and represent North Slope community values, customs, and beliefs for the College.
  • Ability to interpret and represent College actions and western institutions to the North Slope community.
  • Ability to support Ilisagvik College's mission.



EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/EXPERIENCE [Required]:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Allied Health, Education, or a similar field; or an Associate's degree with equivalent experience.


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAINING [Preferred]:

  • Master's Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling or related discipline.

Ilisagvik College offers health insurance to our employees with a no cost premium, and $50/pay period for each additional dependent and a low cost annual deductible of $200 for employee only and $600 for family.

Life Insurance - IlisagvikCollege offers Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment coverage through Guardian Life to employees at no cost to the employee in the amount of $100,000/per benefit.
