Job description

The Sod Installation specialist is responsible for safely and efficiently producing quality installation that meets or exceeds the expectations of landscape customers.

Essential Functions

  1. Perform a professional needs analysis and record customer information in the computer system
  2. Assist customers with the selection, implementation, and installation of turfgrass.
  3. Identifies appropriate solutions for diagnosing and resolving common turf problems.
  4. Provides guidance and consultation on basic turfgrass related maintenance.
  5. Responds to requests from customers and assist with operational demonstration and product handling.
  6. Engages in technical discussions with potential customers through demonstrations and presentations.
  7. Represents company at trade shows and meetings to promote product.
  8. Prepare and grade the grounds for the installation of turf.
  9. Lay turf using necessary equipment and tools.
  10. Apply fertilizer, pesticide treatments, and top dressing as needed to maintain the health and appearance of the turf.
  11. Perform regular watering and irrigation maintenance schedules.
  12. Repair or replace turf as necessary.
  13. Ensure customer satisfaction with product, installation, and performance.

Work Environment

This job operates in exposure to direct sunlight and weather 90% of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Physical Demands

This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent prolonged periods of standing, bending, pulling, twisting, reaching, and climbing.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday work required as job duties demand.

Travel
This position requires up to 90% travel.
