Thermoplastic Pavement Marking Technician

Job Overview:
We are seeking a hardworking, dependable Thermoplastic Pavement Marking Technician to join our growing pavement maintenance team. The ideal candidate has experience installing thermoplastic pavement markings on roads, highways, parking lots, and commercial properties while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
This position requires someone who takes pride in producing clean, accurate, and durable pavement markings and is willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities:
  • Install preformed and extruded thermoplastic pavement markings.
  • Operate thermoplastic melting kettles and application equipment.
  • Apply crosswalks, stop bars, arrows, legends, lane lines, and specialty pavement markings.
  • Prepare pavement surfaces through cleaning and layout prior to installation.
  • Measure and accurately lay out pavement markings according to plans and specifications.
  • Maintain proper thermoplastic temperatures and application thickness.
  • Assist with traffic control setup and removal.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections, cleaning, and routine maintenance.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Work efficiently with crew members to complete projects on schedule.
  • Perform other pavement maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience installing thermoplastic pavement markings preferred.
  • Experience operating thermoplastic application equipment and melting kettles is a plus.
  • Ability to read plans, layouts, and pavement marking details.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to travel when projects require overnight work.
