Job description

Sales Manager for “Magnolia Turf”

Run the Houston market like it's your own business. Lead sales, project execution, contractor relationships, and market growth while earning a path toward real ownership and profit participation.

NOTE: We, “2020 People,” are an outsourced Corporate Recruitment Company that has partnered & worked with “Magnolia Turf” for years as they continue to grow and expand. We hire only for Magnolia Turf. Thank you!

Summary:

You will own the day-to-day operations, drive revenue through sales, oversee project execution, manage contractors and crews, and build long-term relationships that compound over time. You will report directly to the owner and work closely as a strategic partner to continue to scale the business in Houston and surrounding areas.

This is a high-autonomy role with no traditional office hours. Success is measured by results, not clock-ins.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in sales. Prior experience within the construction, landscaping, turf, hardscape, pools, windows, doors, solar, roofing, concrete, or similar industries is preferred.
  • Comfortable selling, project managing, and operating simultaneously.
  • Strong communicator — confident in front of homeowners and professionals.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and accountable.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build equity (ownership), not just earn a paycheck and commission.
  • Comfortable working remotely and in the field without micromanagement.
  • Hungry, gritty, and solutions oriented.

Compensation & Ownership

  • Compensation: Competitive Base plus uncapped, performance-based, 120K+ annual.
  • Equity Ownership Opportunity: Real ownership opportunity tied to performance and longevity
  • Profit Participation: Ownership is rewarded through profit distributions, not just paper equity

Core Responsibilities

Business Ownership & Market Growth

  • Manage systems, routines, and standards that support long-term scalability.
  • Treat the business as if it were your own — because ownership is on the table.
  • Identify growth opportunities across residential, commercial, and contractor channels.

Sales Leadership (Residential & Commercial).

  • Schedule and conduct in-person bids that confidently communicate product quality, installation process, and competitive advantages.
  • Own follow-up and tracked within CRM.
  • Actively pursue relationships with:
    • Home Builders
    • Pool Builders
    • Landscape Designers & Architects
    • Landscapers
    • General Contractors
    • Playground & Sports Court Builders

Project Management & Operations

  • Fully own projects once a sale is closed.
  • Coordinate scheduling, materials, installation crews, and inspections.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to Magnolia Turf standards.
