07/08Provo City's Recreation Center is seeking a part-time community programs instructor to run the Tumbling Tots program at the Recreation Center. This position involves working with toddlers and their parents to explore body movement. Qualified, civic-minded individuals interested in the recreational services provided to Provo's residents are encouraged to apply.

What is the compensation?

Pay Rate: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour, depending on experience.

What will I do?

  • Provide approximately 6 to 8 hours of tumbling instruction per week to children ages 4 and under and their parents.

  • Teach and assist a parent and tot's exploration of body movement, motor skills, tumbling, and working together.

What requirements do I need to apply?

  • Adequate knowledge, skill, or experience in basic tumbling that would demonstrate an ability to perform the work.

  • Experience working with children is required.

  • ***PLEASE STATE YOUR SPECIFIC BASIC TUMBLING KNOWLEDGE IN THE JOB/SKILLS CERTIFICATION SECTION ON THE JOB APPLICATION.***

  • Preference will be given to applicants with previous instructing experience.

What are the hours?

Current classes are scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays 8:45 AM - 1:00 PM with set up and take down before and after class. Further schedules will be determined by department.

What are the physical and environmental factors?

This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work, including six-eight hours of tumbling instruction per week and other varied activities associated with performing the essential duties.

What is the selection process?

Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on July 9, 2026. Applicants mustmeet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration. If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
