Job description

Position: Preschool Gymnastics Instructor

Wage:$17.13 to $17.89 per hour (Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range)

Hours:Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week

Location:Gordon Family YMCA, Sumner, WA

As a Preschool Gymnastics Instructor, you will be responsible for providing direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for preschool children ages 3-5yrs, teaching gymnastics skills and progression.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
  • Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
  • You have knowledge and experience in teaching gymnastics and or/ years of personal gymnastics experience.
  • You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • You are able to demonstrate a friendly, courteous, and professional manner while working with members, parents, and staff.
  • You have a positive attitude and previous experience with youth and diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare lesson plans with a natural progression appropriate to the age and ability of the gymnast.
  • Instruct gymnasts in a safe and fun manner
  • Outline class lesson plans to keep children moving
  • Enforce all safety rules and regulations in the gymnastics gym.
  • Finish each class with a fun group activity.
