Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.000000 | Full Time | Primarily Mon - Fri / 8AM - 5PM
This position covers all nursing services across Asante E.D. Nursing. This Educator role is a standalone role and requires highly specialized competency in Emergency Department education. This role will also support all ED departments, Behavioral Health Unit, including PCU, Vascular Access Team and any other units identified under like patient populations.
Position Summary
The Nursing Professional Development Education Coordinator supports the continuous growth and competency of clinical staff through the design, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality education, training, and clinical practice. The Education Coordinator ensures staff meet the standards to deliver safe, evidenced based care and provides direction on evidence based clinical practice and workflows. The Education Coordinator also provides unit-level support by addressing specific educational needs, supporting onboarding, quality improvement, and promoting best practices. The Education Coordinator partners with nursing leaders, preceptors, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance staff readiness, meet care goals, ensure compliance, and promote alignment with Asante's mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications
Experience
  • Demonstrates clinical competence in area of responsibility and in teaching ability/concept of adult learning.
  • Progressive leadership in one of the following is preferred: clinical education, clinical practice, project/quality coordinator, and/or supervisor roles
  • Willing to support all Asante campuses weekly

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) OR Master's degree in healthcare administration, education, health sciences, psychology, or environmental sciences is required
  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) is preferred

Licensure/Certifications
  • RN: Registered Nurse licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing
  • BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA)
