Job description

Join TrueCommerce at a critical point in our growth, be the technical advisory that helps sales win deals.
The Senior Sales Engineer plays a critical role in helping TrueCommerce win complex B2B integration opportunities by serving as the technical authority, trusted advisor, and solution strategist throughout the sales process. Customers rely on TrueCommerce to connect mission-critical business systems, trading partners, and workflows; they need confidence that our EDI, API, supplier enablement, and ERP-integrated solutions will solve their business challenges and work successfully in their environment.
In partnership with Account Executives, Product, Implementation, and Services teams, you will lead technical discovery, design tailored solution approaches, deliver compelling demonstrations, support technical validation and proof-of-concept activities, and ensure a clear handoff from sale to implementation. Your impact will be measured by your ability to increase technical win rates, accelerate deal progression, reduce implementation risk, strengthen customer confidence, and translate complex integration requirements into clear business value for prospects, customers, and partners.

  • Scope, support, and lead technical validations, proof-of-concept activities, or proof-of-value engagements with clear success criteria and customer-facing outcomes
  • Build trust with senior level customer prospects and stakeholders to drive confidence in our solutions across complex and high value opportunities.
  • Address technical objections, competitive questions, product limitations, and integration concerns with credible, business-oriented responses

Sales Pipeline Influence
  • Directly contribute to the sales pipeline by influencing a target percentage of qualified opportunities and successfully guiding them through the technical evaluation phase.
  • Partner with Account Executives to build mutual action plans, define technical success criteria, and advance opportunities through the sales process.

Customer Feedback & Satisfaction
  • Gather and synthesize technical feedback from prospects to provide actionable insights to the product and engineering teams, measured by structured feedback loops and post-demo surveys.
  • Deliver successful customer projects to pre-implementation ensuring that mission critical details are conveyed to the appropriate departments including implementation, product, and development as needed.

Knowledge & Asset Creation
  • Develop and maintain a set of reusable technical assets, such as demo scripts, best practice guides, and competitive analysis documents, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the wider sales team.
  • Design and deliver customized demonstrations and technical presentations that map TrueCommerce solutions to customer use cases, workflows, and business outcomes
  • Participate in training and continuously share market knowledge with sales and product teams.

Requirements for Success:
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years in a Sales Engineer or related role (Solution Engineer/Consultant, Pre-Sales, etc.)
  • 3+ years ERP experience working in a Sales Engineering or Implementation/Support role with a strong understanding of Order to Cash or Procure to Pay processes.
  • 2+ years Systems Integration experience with IPAAS platforms or specific API/Web services.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with various B2B integration patterns and supplier enablement strategies.
  • Strong practical experience with EDI technologies & protocols (e.g., ANSI, X12, EDIFACT, AS2, SFTP) preferred

Perks & Benefits
  • Remote first and casual work environment
  • 401k with 3.5% company match and vested after 2 years
