What is a Trio Advisor?

A Trio Advisor is a professional who works within federally funded TRIO programs to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, such as low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and students with disabilities. They provide academic advising, career counseling, mentoring, and help students navigate financial aid and college admissions processes. Trio Advisors play a key role in helping students succeed in high school and college, overcome barriers, and achieve their educational goals.

How does a Trio Advisor typically support students in overcoming academic and personal challenges?

As a Trio Advisor, you play a critical role in guiding students through both academic and personal hurdles. This role requires empathy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to advocate for students from diverse backgrounds.
