Job description

Window Dispatcher

Transdev in Beaverton, Oregon is hiring a Window Dispatcher for our TriMet LIFT contract in Beaverton. The Window Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to the clients. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:

  • $27.25 - $38.44 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale)
  • Starting pay $27.25 with progression to $38.44 over 3 years.

Benefits include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures, route begin on time, performance, incidents, etc.
  • Works closely with the Scheduler or Schedules upcoming workday shifts for bus drivers.
  • Verbally directs/guides Bus Drivers in the understanding of basic work rules, scheduling of planned absences, bidding practices for open work, etc.
  • Coordinates with maintenance to obtain equipment availability for service and assigns equipment to drivers.
  • Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators, act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.
  • Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience dispatching.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
  • Internal candidates - Must have an excellent safety record (no more than 1 accident)

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions- up to 10% of the job is performed outside.
  • Work indoors in climate-controlled conditions 90% of the time.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); infrequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 10 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
