Job description
Are you looking for an awesome job where you get to make a difference every day? If so, UCP Oregon might have the perfect job for you!
UCP Oregon is an exciting and empowering place to work. We help adults who experience developmental disabilities to live the life of their dreams-whether that's living independently, working in a great job, or pursuing their interests and hobbies.
We're currently seeking a full-time caregiver "Personal Assistant" for a kind-hearted, engaging man who lives in his own apartment in NE Portland. He is easy-going and loves others with a big sense of humor that can match his own. He enjoys his independence above all else and has a variety of interests such as watching old-time movies, listening to old country and psychobilly rock albums, meeting up with friends in the community, and collecting trucks and trains.
Back at his home in NE Portland, you'll support him with daily living activities including showering, bathroom use, transfers, dressing, and medication administration. You'll also assist with household chores and meal preparation. He is eager to work with a personal assistant who will listen to him and allow him to be as independent as possible.
He lives close to the MAX for those who rely on public transit and together you will often take a TriMet Lift to various locations.
Schedule:
You'll work one shift per week totaling 41 hours: Friday 9:00PM - Monday 2:00PM.
*You'll also work your regular hours on Agency holidays for all schedules.
- It's easy to apply! Click the "Apply for this job" button below.
- UCP Oregon is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and actively seeks applicants from diverse backgrounds. UCP considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to age, sex, ethnicity, religion, disability, marital status, sexual orientation or gender identity, military/veteran status, or any other basis prohibited by applicable law. We encourage BIPOC, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people who experience disabilities to apply.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Be able to pass our pre-hiring screenings, including a reference check, a physical with a lifting test of 50lbs, and a criminal history background check.
- Driving on the job is optional-if choosing to drive for UCP, you must be at least 18 years old, have a current driver's license, a reliable personal vehicle, at least two years of driving experience, auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
- Experience in the developmental disability field preferred, but not required.
Benefits
- $18.36 per hour. Annual wage increase based on satisfactory performance.
- Eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 hours per week.
- Holiday pay (double pay for the first 12 hours of any agency holiday shift that you work).
- Great medical, vision, prescription, and alternative care coverage (including massage therapy and naturopathy) for employee, spouse/domestic partner, and children.
- 3 weeks of paid time off, rising to 4 weeks after 5 years of service at UCP.
- 401k retirement plan with up to 4% employer match.
- Mileage reimbursement if choosing to drive for UCP.
- Fun, casual work environment, with lots of opportunities for advancement and growth, at one of the top-ranked non-profits in Oregon.
