Key Responsibilities for the Hotel Restaurant Cook include:
Food Preparation:
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to DoubleTree/Hilton recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines. This includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and special events.

Station Management:
  • Set up, stock, and maintain workstations to meet kitchen demands during service hours (line cooking, buffet preparation, banquet cooking, etc.).

Quality Control:
  • Ensure consistent food quality by checking ingredients for freshness, taste, temperature, and presentation.

Health & Safety Compliance:
  • Follow Hilton, DoubleTree, and local health department sanitation and food safety regulations (e.g., proper food handling, cleaning, temperature checks, and storage practices).

Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with kitchen staff, servers, and management to maintain smooth service, especially during high-volume periods like conferences, weddings, or game weekends (especially important in Manhattan, KS, with K-State events).

Inventory & Supplies:
  • Assist in receiving, rotating, and properly storing inventory and supplies. Help with monthly inventories when needed.
