Title: IT Support Technician

Location: Onsite Support at DCAS Testing Center (149 Pierrepont Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201)

Job Description

*THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE CONSULTANT TO WORK ONSITE AND BE AVAILABLE ON WEEKENDS – WHENEVER EXAMS ARE SCHEDULED.


Overview:

This position’s primary responsibility is to provide onsite technical support for the DCAS Testing Center computers located at 300 Cadman Plaza. The candidate will support and maintain computer hardware and software used in the testing center, ensuring reliable operation of all systems in a high-demand environment. This includes installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of both Microsoft Windows and Apple operating systems.


Responsibilities:

· Provide dedicated onsite support for PC hardware, software, and peripheral devices at the DCAS Testing Center (149 Pierrepont Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201).

· Install, update, and maintain computer systems, including Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS platforms.

· Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.

· Deploy and configure desktops, laptops, handheld devices, and printers.

· Perform routine system administration tasks and assist with computer-related services for users.

· Conduct hardware and software evaluations, technical reviews, and recommendations.

· Coordinate with departments to support project requirements and ensure minimal downtime.

· Document technical issues and resolutions and maintain accurate support records.

· May be required to provide support at other MTA locations as assigned.

· Must be capable of moving and lifting equipment as necessary.


Preferred Qualifications:

· 4 to 6 Years of Experience Proficiency in supporting PC hardware, software, printers, and related peripherals.

· Experience with Microsoft Windows and Office suite of applications (Microsoft 365 Suite, Outlook...).

· Familiarity with Apple operating systems.

· Familiarity with Oracle client-based applications.

· Experience with Active Directory and networking equipment.

· Knowledge of Ethernet cabling and networking protocols such as TCP/IP.

· Experience with CAD software and technical drawings is a plus.

· A+ and Network+ certification preferred

· Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication abilities.

· Experience with Device provisioning (Autopilot)
