Description
The Treasure Valley Family YMCA is seeking Youth Sports Site Lead for the Fall 2026 Youth Sports season. This position is responsible for supervising all operations during Y sports games. This includes supervising staff, officials and coaches, ensuring program quality and compliance, supporting participant engagement, being the liaison between the Y and facility partner, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment and ensuring a positive Y experience for all participants, volunteers and parents. We are seeking leaders in the sports of Soccer, Competitive Basketball, Volleyball and Y-Ball.
Y Sports offer a fun and supportive environment to develop physical skills, build confidence, and learn the value of teamwork and sportsmanship. These programs promote healthy living habits, encourage social interaction and help children set and achieve goals. Beyond the physical benefits, Y sports foster personal growth, teaching kids' important values like caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, which they can carry with them both on and off the field.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position averaging 10-20 hours weekly. Work locations will vary based on sports season and needs. Pay is $14.95-$18.69/hour depending on sports experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise staff, coaches and officials to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
  • Create an environment that fosters safety for everyone through active supervision and relationship building, following branch and association safety leading practices and by role modeling safe behaviors.
  • Respond to and resolve questions, concerns, conflicts and emergencies in a calm, positive and professional manner following Y Values and using conflict resolution skills. Inform supervisor of situations or unresolved issues.
  • Complete safety reports as assigned following Branch and Association Leading Practices.
  • Ensure all games follow established game rules and guidelines. Address with coaches and officials when they are not being followed.
  • Ensure that the environment is safe and well maintained, areas are clean and orderly, equipment and supplies are in good working conditions. Immediately report any concerns or issues to supervisor.
  • Actively engage with staff, participants, coaches, officials and guests to develop relationships and to provide supervision, guidance and support.
  • Performs and fulfills other positions as needed (officiating, coaching and scoring).

Qualifications:
  • 18 years or older.
  • Experience in customer service or related experience.
  • Excellent human relation skills and an ability to maintain positive communication with staff and members.
  • Ability to address and make solid decisions in emergency situations.
  • Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience of successful supervision of staff and volunteers preferred
  • Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
