How does being a Traveling SPD Tech differ from working as a stationary Sterile Processing Technician in terms of daily responsibilities and team integration?

As a Traveling SPD Tech, you'll adapt to new healthcare facilities regularly, which means quickly learning different sterilization procedures, documentation systems, and facility layouts. The role requires flexibility, as each assignment may present unique challenges, such as adjusting to different shift patterns or equipment. However, this variety can expand your expertise and expose you to a wide range of best practices in the field.

Traveling sterile processing technicians are employed to work at different healthcare facilities, often on temporary assignments. They typically need certification, such as CBSPD or IAHCSMM, and must follow strict sterilization protocols; travel may require flexibility with schedules and locations.
