Traveling Asphalt Superintendent - Full-time Position.

OPC Contracting, Inc. is a premier national general contracting company based in Ohio. We service a variety of commercial construction needs for clients throughout more than 29 states. Our clients rely on our team members to deliver excellent service and quality performance resulting in overall customer satisfaction.
We are looking for a Traveling Asphalt Superintendent to join our growing team. The Superintendent provides overall on-site leadership and management on the paving job site including scheduling, material control, and day-to-day direction of field personnel. This is a traveling onsite position.

General Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate plans and supervise paving crews and subcontractors for each assigned project.
  • Liaison with other departments, asphalt plant, etc. to ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule.
  • Coordinate plans and specifications with the Project Manager, clarifying discrepancies.
  • Maintain communication with the client onsite management.
  • Optimize operations procedures.

Skills and Abilities Required:
  • 3-5 years of Asphalt, Concrete, and Earthworks experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Excellent scheduling, problem-resolution, communication, and leadership skills.
  • High level of follow-through on tasks to completion.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills; very detail-oriented, organized, and able to supervise the work of others.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets Company standards.
  • Travel required 80%.
