This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, likes hands-on work, and wants to be part of a team that builds roads, highways, commercial sites, ports, and major infrastructure projects throughout the Lowcountry. No two days look exactly the same in this role. You'll work alongside experienced crews, learn the basics of grading or asphalt paving, and gain valuable skills that can lead to long-term growth in construction.

What You'll Do
As a Grading or Asphalt Paving Technician, you'll support our field crews with hands-on construction work. This is an entry-level field position with the opportunity to learn from experienced team members and grow within the company.
Depending on the crew you are assigned to, you may help with:
  • Supporting grading or asphalt paving operations on active jobsites
  • Assisting equipment operators and other crew members
  • Shoveling, raking, luting asphalt, and hand grading as needed
  • Using hand tools and power tools safely
  • Helping prepare areas for paving, grading, or site work
  • Learning how roads, parking lots, highways, and large commercial sites are built
  • Working as part of a crew to complete projects safely and efficiently

Our crews work on a variety of projects, including commercial sites, secondary roads, highways, interstates, ports, and other major infrastructure projects across the Charleston area.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, and ready to work hard.
The ideal candidate:
  • Wants to build a career in construction
  • Enjoys working outdoors and being part of a team
  • Is willing to learn grading, paving, and heavy civil construction
  • Can work in outdoor conditions, including heat
  • Is comfortable working longer hours when needed, typically around 55-60 hours per week
  • Shows up on time and is ready to work each day
  • Takes safety seriously
  • Has a positive attitude and is willing to help wherever needed

Previous construction experience is helpful, but not required. We are willing to train the right person.
