Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Ortho night shift position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital in Washington State, with a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and an active WA or compact license required.

Details
  • 6E Med/Surg Ortho unit within a 500-bed Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
  • Primary patient population includes orthopedic and trauma cases such as spine injuries, femoral fractures, and traction patients, with additional neuro, surgical, vascular, urology, and gynecology patients
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
  • Patient ratios are 1:3–4 on days and 1:4–5 on nights
  • Every other weekend required (Saturday/Sunday on days; Friday/Saturday on nights)
  • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
  • Block scheduling is not available
  • Epic EMR used; experience preferred but not required — Epic is a hard stop for charting
  • No on-call requirements
  • Local candidates accepted at standard rates with no radius restriction
Requirements
  • Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital experience required
  • Prior charge RN experience preferred
  • Level I Trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred
  • COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
  • Two references within the last year required for consideration, including one manager and one charge RN or above
Additional Information
  • First-time travelers may be screened on a case-by-case basis; seasoned travelers are preferred
  • Prior UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
  • RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum
  • Solid color scrubs required; light blue scrubs provided on the unit
  • On-site parking is available at a daily cost varying by day and shift; an off-site parking option approximately 1 mile away is also available at $10/day with weekday shuttle service (5am–10pm, Monday–Friday only)
