American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Seattle, Washington.

Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 3 years of high-risk L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and the ability to circulate and provide newborn care.

Details
  • High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit with 31 beds and an average daily census of 15 patients, performing approximately 500–600 deliveries per month
  • Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services clients supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
  • Unit includes 4 ORs and manages all types of L&D cases in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
  • Medication administration includes Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
  • Epic EMR experience is required (hard stop)
  • Electronic fetal monitoring experience required (hard stop)
  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
  • Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • Float required to Postpartum and Antepartum, and may float to sister facilities that serve Mother/Baby patients
Requirements
  • Active WA RN license or a valid compact RN license required
  • Current certifications required: BLS and NRP
  • Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
  • Minimum 3–5 years of L&D experience in a high-acuity, high-paced environment required; 5 years of high-risk experience strongly preferred
  • High-risk L&D experience is required
  • Must be able to circulate in the OR (hard stop requirement)
  • Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery, including newborn care: eyes (eye prophylaxis), Vitamin K (thighs) injections, and newborn assessments (hard stop requirement)
  • Epic EMR proficiency required
  • Electronic fetal monitoring experience required
  • Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Former permanent staff of any Swedish facility must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible to return as a traveler, and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Former permanent staff of other Providence (non-Swedish) facilities are eligible after a separation of at least 3 months
  • All travelers are expected to float between facilities within Washington State; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
  • Minimal RTO is expected; any time-off requests should be addressed prior to submission, as post-offer requests may be denied
  • 13-week contract
