The Manager, Travel works under the direction of the Director of Travel, ensuring the seamless coordination of all domestic and international travel for attorneys and business professionals. This role manages day-to-day travel activities, interacts with vendors and ensures that the firm's travel program operates efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with firm policies and strategic goals.Job Description

In this capacity, the Manager, Travel will:

  • Serve as primary contact for the firm's travelers to assist in the day-to-day travel operations, service delivery issues as well as traveler experience, traveler escalations and providing prompt and effective resolution;
  • Work closely with the Director of Travel to implement travel initiatives, including managing travel requests for meetings and firm events;
  • Manage travel services through efficient processes with high client satisfaction while adhering to travel policy compliance and awareness of savings to the firm;
  • Develop strong working relationships with all levels of the firm on a global scale to include key stakeholders;
  • Create training modules and lead training for travel arrangers and travelers on the travel program, policies and how to create traveler profiles;
  • Support the implementation of global projects related to travel tools and solutions, including 3rd party vendors;
  • Develop a collaborative partnership with the firm's travel vendor to support shared goals;
  • Manage travel reporting, including development of travel dashboards with data related to spend, travel metrics for compliance, volume trends along with exception reporting, budgeting and forecasting;
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and departments across offices;
  • Work beyond scheduled hours as required; and
  • Handle additional related projects and tasks as may be assigned and necessary.

Proficiencies:

  • This position requires a driven individual who is experienced in working for a global organization and leading managed travel programs, driving strategic travel relationships, and supporting firm spend culture and knowledge of global travel industry and understanding of major global travel-related organizations (GBTA, ACTE, ISM, etc.);
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Advanced proficiency in planning, allocating and reconciling an operations budget;
  • Advanced knowledge of office administration and services procedures and practices, preferably in a legal environment (where applicable); and
  • Advanced knowledge of staff performance management, facilities and operations procedures and practices, records and related practices and systems as applicable to the position.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred);
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in corporate travel management, ideally within a professional services or law firm environment;
  • Strong knowledge of global travel operations, including airline, hotel, and ground transportation programs;
  • At least 5 years of work process and procedure experience;
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver exceptional service in a deadline-driven environment;
  • High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive traveler information and firm matters; and
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills.

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position in Washington, DC is a minimum of $95,300 and a maximum of $123,800 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.

The salary wage range for New York that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $101,500 and a maximum of $132,000 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
