Monday-Friday (7:00 am- 3:30 pm)

Summary

We are seeking a Planner/Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team at APM. This role is essential in ensuring efficient production processes and inventory management, directly contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality products to our customers. The position is based in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement: Analyze and improve manufacturing workflows, layouts, and production lines to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with production equipment, tools, and processes, including designing new tooling.
  • Production Support: Support daily production operations, including assisting technicians and operators on the factory floor.
  • Quality & Safety Control: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems (such as ISO 9001) to ensure products meet specifications and safety standards.
  • Documentation & Data Analysis: Create and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and technical reports.

Requirements

  • Capable of creating manufacturing plans and process travelers to manufacture 3,4,5 axis milled parts, turned parts and sheet metal parts. Including typical aerospace processes as they relate to the manufacturing process (ex. Threaded Inserts, Anodize, Chrome, Paint, etc)
  • Proficient with CAD Software, CATIA and or SolidWorks. Highly efficient with solid modeling and drawing creation
  • Proven experience in demand planning and production planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
  • Advanced level GD&T theory and practice
  • Advanced understanding of MRP processes and applications.
  • MS Office suite
  • Must be well versed in reviewing specs (MIL, SAE, ASTM, and or customer specific) resulting in providing output summaries and recommendations.
  • General understanding of tooling and fixturing for machining and sheet metal fabrication
  • Advanced knowledge of material used in manufacturing.
    • All types, Plate, Sheet, Tubes, Extrusions, Castings & Forgings.
    • Carbon based Steels
    • Aluminum
    • Titanium
    • Copper, Brass

The following skills would be beneficial

Radan (2D) nesting software, or equivalent.

Understanding of CNC cutter path software. (3,4,5 AXIS)

CNC machining set-up process. (3,4,5 AXIS)

Turning methods and tolerances.

Sheet metal manufacturing theory and practice

Candidate must be capable of performing these functions both in the office and on the shop floor with various teammates, including operators, quality teammates and/or management. They must possess exceptional leadership and problem solving skills while driving resolution to various activities.
